Sync delay between logged sessions and report totals causing incorrect billing
Hi Rize team,
I’m experiencing a sync delay between individual time logs and the aggregated totals in reports (weekly and monthly).
Sessions appear correctly in the activity logs, but they are not immediately reflected in the report totals. As a result, exported reports can show fewer hours than actually worked.
This is a serious issue, as I rely on these reports for client invoicing. I’ve already had a case where a delayed session caused me to under-bill my client.
Could you please clarify:
Whether this delay is expected behaviour
How long totals typically take to update
And if there’s a way to force a refresh before exporting reports
Accurate totals are critical for billing, so I’d appreciate your help resolving this.
Thanks,
Sofia

Hey! We do use cached data for the top-level metrics so there can be up to a 5 minute delay. This is because those values are expensive to calculate on the fly. Are you experiencing a delay more than 5 minutes?

Yes, it’s taking more than 5 minutes. I removed the app and reinstalled it. Let’s see — I’ll try to monitor this more closely. I only noticed because I exported a PDF that showed 10h45, and when I checked again later it had updated to 12 and something. By then, I had already sent the invoice to the client with just the 10h45.

Okay cool. Thanks for reporting. Definitely let me know if you run into this again and we will investigate!
